hovering sanctuary
_About
This art installation explores the timeless theme of parenthood as a symbol of protection and shelter. Through the delicate yet powerful portrayal of a bird and its offspring, I aim to convey the profound essence of parental love and care.
I envisioned the parent bird gracefully suspended above the young, the wings extended to create a comforting shadow, shielding the bird child from the elements and any potential harm. It is a representation of the unyielding dedication and selflessness that our progenitors and ancestors offer, a sanctuary in the midst of life’s uncertainties.
Beyond the surface narrative, this artwork delves into the notion of duality and the eternal cycle of life. The symbiotic relationship between ancestors and descendants serves as a powerful reminder of life’s interconnectedness and connects the past with the future. It is a visual exploration of how we are all part of this vast and intricate tapestry of existence, with protection, guidance, and nurturing flowing through its very fabric.
