Fingerprint
“Fingerprint” is a Land art intervention located on a shaped finger sand peninsula in Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan, Mongolia. The artwork is a part of a series of 8 artworks created during GNAP Mongolia III in 2022, and it explores the concept of identity. Fingerprint depicts an abstract interpretation of the uniqueness of a human fingerprint, emphasizing the delicate balance between individuality and unity.
The artwork is designed to be viewed from the sky, highlighting the ephemeral nature of the human experience and the importance of perspective. From the ground, the artwork appears as a series of lines drawn on the sand. However, as viewers take a step back and gain distance, they can begin to appreciate the intricacy of the design and the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
“Fingerprint” celebrates the subtle differences that make each human being unique, while also reminding us of our connection to the natural world and the larger universe. As we contemplate the artwork and the vast expanse of Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan, we are invited to reflect on the many facets of our own identity and our place in the world.
